We are very proud to have been awarded Shared Prosperity Funding by Birmingham City Council to install a canopy at Perrott’s Folly.

At 3m in diameter, we can only have a maximum of 20 people in the Folly at any one time. Due to the age and listed status of the building, only the ground floor is accessible to those with mobility needs. The canopy allows for all-weather delivery and increased capacity.

Our canopy has been designed by Intervention Architecture in partnership with our local community. We had a model-making day in which our participants shared the colours, designs and styles they felt represented them best. We created concertina roofs, lattice work structures and floral borders. Intervention Architecture re-imagined them into a white and yellow structure with retractable roof. Plane Structure will be building our canopy with Wilkinson Environmental installing our groundworks.
