Art at the Folly is an arts-based wellbeing program for asylum seeking families.
Many of our participants have had a very difficult journey to the UK and despite finding safety, it can be overwhelming to be placed in a city you don’t know, with an unfamiliar culture and often language. Art at the Folly welcomes participants to take part in arts activities, connect to a local community space and start building their life in the UK.
‘I have taken part in printing and drawing sessions. The faces sessions has been my favourite as things (my thoughts and my worries) go out of my head.’
‘I have enjoyed both sessions. The team is kind and helping people and it is so enjoyable with them.’
‘My favourite session was printing when we went up the tower (Perrott’s Folly). I liked the tower – you got to see all of Birmingham. Every session is my favourite session. Very good!’
